Biography

Dara is a passionate advocate for change, and the co-founder, along with her husband Tomy, of For Freedom Fundraising. Their inspiration? The incredible support and tight-knit community that Warrior Rising provides to veterans. Recognizing the potential of their combined talents, Tomy and Dara jumped into the world of fundraising, paving the way for more assistance to flow from Warrior Rising to fellow veterans.

For Freedom Fundraising sprang to life from the idea that savvy fundraising can turbocharge the efforts of organizations out to make a real impact. Since kicking off in 2021, this dynamic venture has been a driving force, chalking up over $3 million in funds for a range of nonprofits. With a knack for strategic planning, partnership building, event magic-making, and skills in auctioneering and public speaking, the team at For Freedom Fundraising is all in. Their mission? Backing nonprofits with a focus on veterans, conservation, disability services, and drug rehabilitation – basically, anyone out there aiming to make life better for Americans.

Dara's background includes serving as the Executive Director of the Lake County Council on Aging, where she successfully revitalized the organization and expanded its programs. Her leadership in developing a public transportation system, in-home services, nutrition programs, and assistance counseling played a crucial role in the organization's positive transformation.

Prior to that, Dara ran her own accounting practice, specializing in small business creation and growth. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish an Early Learning Center with a remarkable 98% scholarship rating for students. With a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and ongoing studies in Non-Profit Administration through the University of Montana, Dara brings a wealth of knowledge.
