Steven Broadbent is currently a Division Manager for a large building materials and construction company headquartered in Orem, Utah. As a CPA, Steven has approximately 10 years of accounting and finance experience in private and public accounting in varying industries. Steven graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Accountancy and started his career with KPMG working primarily in Denver, CO and Boise, ID while completing short-term rotations in Texas and Italy.
His work at KPMG focused primarily on financial statement audits, as well as audit work over business combinations and other large transactions for companies in various industries including manufacturing, retail, nonprofit, agribusiness, hospitality, and telecommunications. While at KPMG he also served as a pacific northwest resource for incorporating data and analytics in performing audit procedures resulting in increases in both efficiency and effectiveness of audit processes.
After leaving public accounting, Steven has worked as a corporate controller where he has focused on streamlining financial processes, establishing control processes to increase the accuracy and reliability of data and providing financial analysis, contributing to the Company’s ability to grow revenues 60% and more than double profitability over the same time-period.
Steven’s nonprofit experience includes serving on the finance and investment committees for Life’s Kitchen, a Boise organization providing job and life training, primarily consisting of a comprehensive culinary curriculum for at-risk youth in the Boise area. Additionally, Steven has performed audit work for various nonprofit organizations and compliance work for entities receiving government grant funds.
While not having served in the military, Steven’s Father and Grandfather both served in the Navy and he is extremely thankful for the opportunity give back to the veteran community. Steven enjoys living near the mountains where he makes any excuse to get outdoors and enjoy nature with his wife and two young sons.
